Fetal Pyelectasis (Pelviectasis)
One of the most important things that I've learned while being pregnant, is who you choose to be your Doctor. We have had quite a roller coaster ride with the amount of Doctors that we have visited. We have finally made our decision and are very pleased with our choice. After a week of waiting to hear about the ultrasound, we were given some answers. It appears that there might be fluid in "one" kidney but considering the fetus is so tiny this may not even be a concern. Even if there is something going on with one kidney, at least it's not in both. This then would raise a red flag. Just to be certain about everything, our doctor has requested that we have a second ultrasound around 32 weeks. This way we can make sure the size or the issue is no longer there. This sort of thing is said to happen in about 59% of cases within in the 20 week ultrasound. Most issues resolve themselves by the 32nd. If by chance there is still some fluid, then the fetus will be monitored closely to make sure it is not life threatening. Everything else checked out normal. So, all in all our exam came back very strong and the little one is doing well. Thanks for everyone's support through this time.

20 Week Ultrasound

"It's a Beaut!" Today we were able to see some of the "blue prints," of the special Vessel underway. We were very excited to get to see our little one for the first time. As we watched the technician go across my belly, we really weren't sure everything that we were looking at. We got more excited when we saw things that were recognizable such as a foot, hand, heart beat and eventually the face. Once we got to see the face it really wasn't a great shot because we only saw one eye with the other one covered by the placenta. Our little bundle of joy seemed to be very healthy other than a concern of fluid in the kidney's. We have an appointment with our doctor on Friday and will hopefully get more understanding of what this means. We are hoping that it means nothing but will keep you posted as we find out.

Ribbon Cutting
"Jump aboard," as a brand new Vessel is underway and is set to make its inaugural voyage on May 21st 2010. This will be the first Vessel to set sail in the 21st century and marks an unbelievable 26 years since the last Vessel went anchors away. Reserve your boarding passes and come along with the masterminds of the operation as Melissa and Andy take you on a journey through the development of the hull. Until next time...Bon Voyage!
