Baptism of Maizelyn Faith

We joyfully brought our little girl into the love of God's family on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Christ the King Lutheran Church. She was blessed to be surrounded by so many family and a friends.
Cousins Natalie and Teagan got to meet Maizelyn for the first time.
Natalie was such a wonderful cousin comforting and holding Maizelyn.
Maizelyn wore the same dress that her Aunt Alice was Baptized in as a little girl.
She did so well waiting patiently as everyone took pictures of her on her special day.
Thank you everyone for being there. Maizelyn is a lucky girl.

It was so nice to have Aunt Alice there even though her trip was short. She loved meeting Maizelyn for the first time.

Teagan loved to give Maizelyn kisses. She was such a great cousin rocking Maizelyn to sleep.

Annie drove down to visit and joined in the fun. It was wonderful having her there to celebrate with everyone.

Two Months

Maizelyn has changed so much in the last two months. She is getting more into a routine and we are getting to have a little more face time with her. The first month consisted of a lot of crying and us not knowing what she was in need of. Was it food? Was it a dirty diaper? Or was it sleep? We couldn't figure it out and the doctor informed us that she has colic and that we just need to be patient for three months. Well we've been as patient as we can be and I think it's starting to pay off even before the third month has arrived. After her first road trip to Chicago we learned better eating habits and have seen a much happier girl. I was still struggling with getting up every two to three hours to feed her but just before her two month birthday we started having her sleep in her own room. The first night she slept for five hours!! Needless to say we didn't get that much sleep because we were checking to make sure she was still breathing. What can I say, we're new parents. At night she sleeps for five hours, maybe even six but it's made us a lot happier. Our days consist of kicking her legs like crazy. She loves to sit in the bouncer chair and reach for the toys that hang down. I got so excited when I first saw her reaching and recognizing the toys. She loves to smile and coo. This can go on for about an hour and a half and then she is tired. We have really enjoyed watching her grow.
Can't believe our daughter is already two months. Time flys!
She loves movement so it makes sense for her to fall asleep in her swing.
We thought she was so cute in her blue dress and bow and her adorable socks that Aunt Drexa got her.
Considering she does have colic we like to keep her more upright. She enjoys falling asleep on our shoulder like this.
