3000 mile road trip to Chicago at 6 weeks

Great Grandpa Gross, Grandma Gross, Maizelyn and I took a road trip to Chicago. Josh and Angela flew in from Italy to have their daughter Alanya baptised so it was a must to be there. We took two days to get there and two days to get back. Maizelyn did pretty well in her car seat but was getting a little tired of being in it. Great Grandpa wanted to help when Maizelyn was crying but we told him that she couldn't come out of her car seat. He felt a lot better when she was happy. Our first stop on the way was to see Phoenix and her new addition River. Here is River at 1 week and Maizelyn at 6 weeks. They look about the same size.
Jenny had just got into town to help out Phoenix, so we were very lucky to get to visit with her as well.
Great Grandpa loves to sleep and he loves the babies. Here they are all sleeping together.
My little ladybug! She seemed so tired from the heat.
Uncle Jerry loved to call Maizelyn little Andy. He thinks she looks like her daddy.
I hadn't seen Josh in a very long time. It was great seeing him, as well as meeting his adorable daughter Alanya of 4 months.
Here is Aunt Olivia (98 years old) holding Maizelyn.
Cousins Susan and Keaira playing.
Cousins!! Jourdan, Jessica, Jenny and I
Aunt Sue enjoying holding Maizelyn.
There was a couch in the bathroom of the church. Maizelyn waiting to get her diaper changed. The dress was given to Maizelyn from Grandma Vessel.
Uncle Ken finally got his turn.
Finally got to meet Josh's wife Angela. We will have to take a trip to Italy soon!
Aunt Terry definitely got her baby fix. Maizelyn was sleeping and Alanya held Maizelyn's hand.
Here Maizelyn is waiting to take her first boat ride.
Downtown Chicago!
Maizelyn downtown Chicago sporting her life vest that's about the size of her.
Aunt Drexa was really good with Maizelyn. She seemed to calm down when Drexa would talk to her.
Maizelyn looking and mommy wondering why she is wearing this big vest.
First boat ride with Patrick, Keaira, Jessica, Grandma, mommy, David, Matt, Aunt Terry and Uncle Mark. Maizelyn went to sleep on her first ride. She's just like her mommy.
We had a lot of fun in Chicago but it was time to go home to daddy. Next time we will bring him along for the ride.

First Camping Trip in Silverton

For the 4th of July we went on our first camping trip with Maizelyn. Grandma and Grandpa Gross were nice enough to share their camper with us to make the experience a little better. We were lucky to have Jim, Linda, Ethan and Kristen come and visit us as well.
Here is Maizelyn sleeping between mommy and daddy. It was very cold so we put her in the middle of us to keep warm. She seems very relaxed.
Maizelyn showing off her first pair of shoes from Aunt Alice.
Ethan really enjoyed holding Maizelyn. He thought she was so cute.

Maizelyn enjoys being in the Baby Bjorn with daddy. Here she is at the parade.
Mommy and Maizelyn sporting their 4th of July attire.
Aunt Melanie came for a couple nights. She was a big help when we tried to get some rest.
Great Grandpa Gross got to enjoy a ride on the 4-wheeler with Gary. He was holding on tight.
Maizelyn on the ride home from Silverton. She was a happy girl until we went over the pass. We think that the pressure on her ears is what makes her unhappy. We love her smiles!!
